On Telegram, Kyiv's deputy defense minister Hanna Maliar claimed that fighting in Bakhmut has "decreased" and that Ukraine's forces maintain a small foothold in the critical eastern city.
She said, referring to the remains of a MiG-17 monument in Druzhba Square in the southwest of Bakhmut, "Our troops control the southwestern outskirts of the city in the "airplane" area."
Ukrainian soldiers had made "a slight development" on the flanks toward the north and south of the city, she guaranteed.
